Refunds and cancellation
How to stop paying, what happens when you do, and when we give money back.

Cancelling
Open the app, go to the plan screen, and cancel there. It takes one confirmation, there is nobody to email and nothing to justify. You can change your mind from the same screen.
Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end the period you have already paid for — you keep Plus until the last day you bought, and nothing in the planner is touched.
Deleting your account is on the same screen and is a different thing. It stops the billing immediately rather than at the end of the period, because afterwards there is no account left to stop it with. The rest of that period is not refunded and it cannot be undone, so cancelling is the one to pick if you only want the payments to stop.
Refunds
There is a 21-day free trial with no card, precisely so nobody has to pay to find out whether this is useful. Once a payment has been taken, the ordinary answer is that you keep what you paid for until it runs out, and are not charged again.
That said: if you were charged and did not mean to be — a renewal you meant to cancel, a second subscription by accident, a plan you switched by mistake — email [email protected] within 14 days and we will refund it. We would rather give the money back than argue about $8.99.
Refunds go back to the card that paid, through Stripe, and usually appear within five to ten working days. We do not refund the used part of a year — if you have had six months of a yearly subscription, six months is what was used.
What a refund does not do
Access is granted by a licence stored on your device and checked without contacting us. Because of that, it cannot be withdrawn remotely: when a subscription ends — whether you cancel, your card stops working, or we refund you — the app can keep opening for up to 30 days after the last day you paid for, until the licence runs out and the app asks again. This is a consequence of not tracking you, and it is never grounds for a further charge.
In practice: a refund ends the billing, and access fades out within a month rather than stopping at midnight. We have chosen not to build the thing that would stop it sooner, because that thing is the app checking in with a server every time you open it.
If your card stops working
Stripe retries a failed payment over about two weeks and emails you. Access continues throughout — a card that expired on a Tuesday is not a reason to lock somebody out of their own budget. If it never succeeds the subscription ends, and again nothing in the planner is deleted.
If we stop
If the service shuts down, the unused part of any subscription is refunded and the app keeps working offline for as long as your licence lasts. Your figures are on your device, so they do not go anywhere when we do.
Chargebacks
A chargeback costs us the payment and a fee on top, and takes months. Email [email protected] first — the answer is nearly always yes, and it is faster.
